When daemons ambush an elven expedition near her home in the Aldan mountains, Vallandra is separated from her squad and saved by Calahan, the expedition's commander. Realizing he's found an elf who knows Aldan, Calahan asks her to guide his knights through the treacherous mountains in search of a rare plant that could heal Valah's blighted lands.
